Hattiesburg, Mississippi based artist, James Kyle McCrory graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2013 and proceeded to pursue work in Chicago before relocating back to Mississippi. James has a studio in downtown Hattiesburg and currently works with the Hattiesburg Downtown Association of the Fine Arts.
The main focus of my work is the study of the human form. I chose this subject because of the universal understanding and connection between myself and my fellow man. I feel far in tune to this when drawing the figure, than I do working with any other subject matter. The visual representation is deeply rooted in my emotional response to the figure that can’t be conjured up in quite that same way by any other subject matter.
